Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX), a Marlborough, MA based worldwide developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical devices whose products are used in a broad range of interventional medical specialties, acquired Plymouth, MN based Atritech for $100 million in upfront consideration plus an earn-out of up to $275 million paid over the next four years. Atritech's WATCHMAN® Left Atrial Appendage Closure Technology gives Boston Scientific an innovative product designed for atrial fibrillation patients with high stroke risk.
